I have neglected my poor dusty blog for several months and for that I apologize. But, today as I lied awake trying to rest my spinning head, I decided the best way to re-focus would be to tell everyone why it is spinning.
Alan and I spent this week in Cape Cod, Massachusetts sharing our experiences with Koko and learning what the mother ship has been doing and brewing in the innovation labs. Holy crap. These people have been busy and I am spinning because this lovely thing we call Koko is getting ready to literally knock your socks off.
Our expertise has been grounded in resistance training and effective cardio programs that get people fit and stay that way. In and of itself, Koko is the most effective way to get results. But what is about to happen to the system and those lucky enough to be on the path already will add SIGNIFICANT pieces to the puzzle. Those pieces will address the impact of our system on your physical structure and give you specific tools to fuel yourself and keep track of the entire strength/nutrition/heart health/disease prevention spectrum.
If you are with me, stay with me. If you know someone who has been aware of what you personally have achieved and just hasn't "gotten it" yet, they will soon. Word will travel fast and you will be pioneers. Mark my word.
Just my thoughts about Koko and the way it improves my life and the lives of our members...

What drives you?
We have some fun competitions going on at the club right now and some ready to take place. Some are club sponsored, some are not. One of those non-club sponsored contests is between two members; a modern day "battle of the sexes". Jeff and Tiffany are pushing each other, seeing who can get the most points in a week and it has been a back and forth event. First it was Tiffany who went from 50k points to 100k points in 16 days. This is a remarkable feat in and of itself. Then this week, Jeff decided he would earn 25k. Mind you, this takes determination, drive and a little bit of obsession...just sayin.
Here is what Jeff did this week. 41 cardio sessions, 10 strength sessions (7 of which were perfect workouts) and took a day off. Total weight lifted, 142,000 lbs; Total Koko points, 28,476.
Well done Jeff. Enjoy the work and take the day off!

Let's drop some lbs!
Okay, okay, I know. More than two months have passed since my last entry and there is no excuse. I was reminded twice this week that there are a few followers and they inspired me to get back at it. So to them, thank you!
Last year we had some fun with a little contest that centered around losing weight. Now that we have a re-committed group at both clubs and holidays are in the rear view mirror, we figured we would run the contest again. I hear a lot from people that it is not fair to run this during spring break which means vacations for some. But, with life and all that comes with celebrating it-whether it be birthdays, spring break, holidays, good weather and longer days-it begs the question, "When is a good time to change eating habits?" My answer is that there is no better time than right now.
I cannot think of a time of the year that lasts for more than a few days or weeks that creates an "opening" to break free and make a lifestyle change. It all starts with something to create momentum to make a change. For some, maybe it is Lent. Others it is good weather, reminding them that bathing suit season is nearly upon us, others it is something else completely different. Most of us can stand to eat better, eat more colorful things, eat less. Man, is that easier said than done!
We just want to create a supportive atmosphere for those interested in starting that momentum! We have about 25 brave souls that have joined in the weight loss challenge this month. I am sure it not the $50 gift card that got people interested. It is that people want help. They want a nudge, a push in the right direction. Here is the nudge.
The same theme exists for exercise. People listen to the radio, watch TV, look everywhere and are reminded the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and keeping moving. I am buoyed every day by the members who come in and tell me their story. Many similar lines exist among them but each unique in its own. What comes through loud and clear is that the Koko system provides that nudge every day for over 300 people in our membership.
Stronger, leaner, healthier. That's what we do.
